Appropriate Housing

 

Safe, liveable homes are essential to human well-being. Some view such housing as an absolute human right. It is one we're failing to deliver to many of the world's citizens. Homelessness is only the most visible evidence of a huge and growing political problem. Canada and British Columbia are finally beginning to address the problem in the standard manner, by committing to spending lots of money*. Perhaps than money needs to be supplemented and focus by generous doses of imagination and creativity.

 

Randy Wyton has an idea and a successful test site in Kimberley which he believes may be a better application of the resources available to solve the problem. Call it "appropriate housing." He shared his experience and his ideas with us in a recent conversation:
